One of the core capabilities of TrustSource is the ability to determine the obligations set by a license based on the project context. See the article on "Understanding the legal setup determining license suitability" to learn more about the determining factors for license compliance.
TrustSource has been provided to free your developers from dealing with all this. To simplify a license suitability check making use of the project context, developers may select the CHECK function.
The CHECK-function is available at the lower left corner of the navigation bar on the left. You may then pic a given Project and a module form the list of existing entries. in addition you select the license you want to verify. After pressing the "Check" button, TrustSource will display the obligations resulting from this license in the corresponding context.
PLEASE NOTE the differences between modified (right) and unmodified (left). This distinguishes the effect of just adding the component to the stack or modifying, e.g. fixing/patching it. In case the some red lines show up, it might be useful to contact your project manager before adding the component.
This feature is available through the API as well. So it is possible to integrate it into your IDE. Please see the API documentation for more details.
